Hope (BookEndz)

This card was created after reading An Invisible Thread. The one word that kept coming to mind as I read this book was "hope". No matter how bad you think your situation is, there is always someone who is worse off than you. The love that was freely given to Maurice by Laura was just...I don't know...admirable. I found it hard to put the book down. In any case, food was a major factor in this novel, so I broke out my Ms. On the Go stamp set along with some October Afternoon Modern Homemaker dp to create this card.

MOJO221

Isn't she adorable? I love Lala Land Crafts stamps. This one is called Dress Up Marci. I purchased her in digital before she was available in rubber. I created this card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. The paper is Echo Park, Yours Truly.

Snowman Soup

Today we put together goodie bags for snowman soup. I made both leaded and unleaded in order to have a little christmas treat for the adults as well. The unleaded bags included  a pack of hot chocolate with marshmallows, a few hershey kisses and a candy cane for stirring. The leaded bags included tiramisu and rasberry hot chocolate, hershey kisses, a candy cane and a personal sized bottle of kahlua...yum!

B-day Card for Thien

My son was invited to a birthday party today. Of course I procrastinated and did not make the card until this morning. I love this image by Lori's designs. I need more practice with my copics because I don't like how the jeans came out but... no time for a do over.

Fantablous Cricut Challenge Me Monday

The challenge for this week is to create a card with the words thank you on it. I decided to use this cute bird cage from my April Showers cart. This is one of my "must have" carts that sat on the shelf for months before I used it the first time. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket and it also sat on the shelf for over a year before I used it. I am really trying not to hoard my paper but it is not working.

Mema's Crafts Criss-Cross Challenge

Today I made a card for the November challenge on Mema's crafts. The theme this month is fall and the card should be a criss-cross. This was my second attempt at this type of card. The paper is not as vibrant as I would like but I am trying to use what I have before I make any new purchases.

CK's Black Girls Rock Challenge

Robert Jackson created some awesome digital images inspired by "Black Girls Rock". Charice on SOC is hosting a challenge where you have to use one of these images to create a project. I decided to use the image of Jill Scott.

Cricut Challenge

Yesterday I needed to create a birthday card but did not have time to break out the copics. So, I decided to dust off my cricut and cut an image to use. This made me think that I am probably not the only one who does not use my cricut as often as I would like. So, I decided to issue a challenge to the SOC community. Use your cricut to create a card or layout.

The Journey Begins

Woo hoo! Today I attended a 15 hour crop with two of my crafty sistahs. Well, one of them, who will remain nameless, decided that it was time for me to start a blog. The excuse that I didn't know how did not go over very well. Guess what she did...you got it, she set it up for me.

My two guilty pleasures are crafting and reading, not necessarily in that order. Oh what a good book does for the soul. But, I get just as much out of playing with a piece of pretty paper.  So now the journey begins.
